Let’s face it… if you’ve been labeled, chances of getting ahead in life can be extremely challenging.  Most of our folks need a helping hand to begin the process of recovering their lives.

IT’S ABOUT THE SECRETS WE KEEP AND RECOVERY…

We work with the secrets and the labels, offering assistance where people need it most.  It’s about a second chance to start over on the right foot.  We make every effort to embrace the broken where they are and help them take the next steps towards change.  This letter serves as an an opportunity for you to support this incredible work!

Life can seem funny and weird on its own, let alone those chaotic and painful moments.  And God, in his infinite wisdom, never intended for us to tackle all of its intricacies alone.  Together we’ve been given the opportunity to make a difference.  Can you imagine what would happen if we united as a community, took our neighbor’s hand, and said, “You don’t have to go through this by yourself. We will help you”?  Oh, can you imagine the relief those words would bring to a dark situation?

IT’S ABOUT EASING THE BURDEN…

We offer a robust recovery model that pulls an individual into a community they can call their own.  Once they are plugged in and on a path towards change, we tackle getting folks groceries, housing, job placement, trauma recovery, counseling services, and assisting with any financial difficulties that may prevent someone from moving forward.  That’s why 50% of all of our donations go back to our people.

Friends of Awakenings can actually say to Jesus,  “You were hungry and we gave you food, You were thirsty and we gave you something to drink, You were a stranger and we welcomed you in, You were naked and we clothed You, You were sick and we visited You, You were in prison and we came to You.” - Matthew 25:35-36     

IT’S ABOUT A POSSIBILITY…

Five years ago a brick-and-mortar Awakenings was a pipe dream, and now here we are with three beautiful, diverse church families in Piqua, Sidney and internationally in Brazil. If God can do that, he can transform lives all across our local Miami Valley … and across the world.  “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” – Matthew 19:26
